Cheryl Ferguson

There were bike trails in Borden Park. Always bump into a kid you knew. There would be thousands of people in this park and they would come for the free music festival every Sunday during the summer. They probably took the bus from Jasper Ave and kids from Eastglen would come up,and there was lots of young energy. They came from all over Edmonton. The kids wore the Billy Jack hats, the floppy hat, they wore patouli perfume, hemp straightened jewelry, lots of jeans, bare feet or sandals. Lots of hair. The guys had afros and really long hair and beards. So it was a long hair generation.”
