“We walked through fields and yards. There weren’t as many fences and the houses were not close together. Along the way there were wooden sidewalks and my dad had given me a magnet with a string attached. And I used to get some spending money out of the cracks of the sidewalks. That was fun looking for coins and retrieving them.”
